- 2. Sequence Window
-
- 2.1. Control Bar
-
- The control bar, positioned at the top of the sequence window, is common to
- all window modes. The control bar consists of items described below:
-
- 1. Track Indicator:
- It indicates a track number of the current track. If "ALL" is
- indicated here, it means that events in all tracks are displayed in the
- sequence window. Otherwise, if a number is indicated, it means only the
- indicated track is displayed in the sequence window. If you click the
- track number box, a popup menu which allows you to choose a track will
- appear. You can also edit a track name of the current track by using a
- dialog which appears when you click the track name box.
- In the track indicator and this popup menu, a track name is displayed
- with a track number. It is quoted from the first Sequence/Track name
- meta event or first text meta event in the corresponding track. For
- details, refer section "Function of Meta Events".
- 2. Channel Indicators:
- They indicate displaying status for each MIDI channel. A numbered
- box indicates whether or not the corresponding channel is shown. If a
- box is filled with the channel color, it means that the corresponding
- channel is shown in the sequence window. If a box is not filled, it
- means that the channel is hidden. To toggle the display status for a
- channel, click the numbered box.
- If a black horizontal bar is displayed above a numbered box, it means
- that the current track contains events in the corresponding MIDI
- channel.
- Flat boxes under numbered boxes indicate the "current channel". To
- change the current channel, click one of these flat boxes.
-
- NOTE: Events in the current channel are displayed in front of events in
- any other channel. If you insert new events, they are added to the
- current channel.
-
- 3. ALL Button:
- Clicking the "ALL" button shows all channels.
- 4. ONE Button:
- Clicking the "ONE" button hides all channels except the current
- channel.
- 5. Bar:Beat Indicator:
- It indicates playing position while playback or recording process is
- running. By clicking this indicator, you can specify the bar number to
- display (same as choosing the menu item "Edit > Jump to...").
- 6. Record Button:
- Clicking this button starts recording your sequence (same as
- choosing the menu item "MIDI > Record"). If you click this button and
- hold it down, a popup menu will appear and you can choose a type of
- recording.
- 7. Stop Button:
- Clicking this button stops playing or recording (same as choosing
- the menu item "MIDI > Stop").
- 8. Rewind Button:
- While you hold this button down, playback sequence will be rewound.
- If you double-click this button, rewinding will be continued until next
- time you click one of play, pause, stop, forward or rewind button. This
- button is not available while recording or synchronizing to MIDI
- external clock.
-
- NOTE: While you are rewinding the sequence, only note-on events,
- note-off events and continuous events are sent to the MIDI out port.
- Some type of control change events, such as data entry, NRPN, all note
- off, all sound off, reset all controller or local control, and system
- exclusive events are not sent.
-
- 9. Pause Button:
- Clicking this button pauses playback or recording process (same as
- choosing the menu item "MIDI > Pause"). To release pausing, click this
- button again. If you click this button then start playback or
- recording, the sequence will be paused at the start position of
- playback or recording. Paused recording is automatically released by
- receiving a note on event from a MIDI input device.
- 10. Play Button:
- Clicking this button starts playback your sequence (same as choosing
- the menu item "MIDI > Play"). If you click this button and hold it
- down, a popup menu will appear and you can choose a type of playback.
- 11. Forward Button:
- While you hold this button down, playback sequence will be
- forwarded. If you double-click this button, forwarding will be
- continued until next time you click one of play, pause, stop, forward
- or rewind button. This button is not available while recording or
- synchronizing to MIDI external clock.
- 12. Slidac controller:
- By dragging this controller, you can control playback speed
- continuously. This control is not available while recording or
- synchronizing to MIDI external clock. In case you check the "Lock
- slidac controller" option in the "Playing-options" dialog, the slidac
- controller will stay at the new position when you release it after
- dragging. Otherwise, the slidac controller will go back to the center
- position. If you drag while pressing the [command] key, it temporarily
- operates as in opposite setting.
